Madekeri, Karnataka, Jul 12 (UNI) Federation of Planters in the state resorted to protest before the office of the Deputy Commissioner and ventilated grievances about their alleged non-cooperation here last evening.
President of the Federation Katti Mandaiah said though the Government had cancelled the circular curbing of 'Jamma Bane', (curbing the rights of its owners), the district administration was harassing the owners by not issuing proper instructions to teEhasildars and other officials. The jamma holders were not getting CRC, which was essential to raise loans and realise other benefits, he added.
Mr Mandaiah said the Federation would resort to agitation every fortnight, till the issuance of CRC by the administration.
The President criticised that no worthwhile action was taken by forest officials to curb the menace of tigers and elephants.
A memorandum was submitted to the District Collector's office on the issue by the Federation, he added.
