New Delhi, Jul 12 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today said that East Delhi is poised for large-scale infrastructure development, which would turn it into a most developed area in the National Capital.
Speaking to reporters after inaugurating a community center at Old Seemapuri and laying the foundation stone of another at Dilshad Colony under the Seemapuri Assembly Segment, the Chief Minister said, ''The coming up of the Games Village has proved to be a catalyst in increasing the pace of development in East Delhi.'' Ms Dikshit said it has been decided to commission more community centers in East Delhi to provide ample space for social, cultural and other family gatherings. This would help in maintaining social harmony and cementing bonds of brotherhood, she said.
The center at Old Seemapuri has been constructed with an amount of Rs 142.50 lakh in an area of 1721 sq meters. Another Community Centre would be constructed with an amount of Rs 147.50 lakh in an area of 1599 sq meters at Dilshad Colony. Chairman Trans Yamuna Area Development Board Narendra Nath, Dy Mayor Divya Jaiswal and local MLA Veer Singh Dhingan were also present.
