Mandi, Jul 12 (UNI) Former Excise and Taxation Minister and senior Congress leader Rangila Ram Rao today termed the state government's decision to scrap the Administrative Tribunal as ''most unfortunate retrogressive step'' that will affect the state government employees.

"At present, over 24,000 cases of government employees are pending in the Tribunal. Transferring them to the already burdened High Court would amount to delaying or denying of justice," he told UNI here.

Mr Rao said the Tribunal had been set up to deliver speedier justice to the aggrieved employees.

He lamented that every time the BJP came to power in the state it took anti-people and anti-employees decisions and incurred the wrath of the masses.

"The previous BJP Government had abolished the posts of Divisional Commissioners at Mandi and Dharamsala during its tenure and the Congress Government had to restore them," he added.

"People are disillusioned with the BJP rule in a short time and would give a befitting reply to the party in the coming Lok Sabha elections," he added.
