Panaji, Jul 11 (UNI) About 500 students drawn from various schools and colleges of the city and outskrits participated in the state- level rally to mark the observance of the World Population Day in Goa today.
MLA Victoria Fernandes flagged off the rally, organised by the state Family Welfare bureau of the Directorate of Health Services, at Kala Academy, Campal. The rally went around the capital city and culminated at Azad Maidan.
Various road rallies, competitions, talks and other prgrammes related with the theme ''Plan your future - plan your family'' were also organised at all Urban health centres, community health centres and primanry health centres in the state.
The Day is observed every year on July 11, to create awarness on the need to plan a family, to lead prosperous, healthy and comfortable lives.
