Welspun bags order worth Rs 3,000 cr

Mumbai, July 11 (UNI) Gujarat-based Welspun Gujarat Stahl Rohren Limited (WGSRL), the second largest line pipe company in the world, has won orders worth Rs 3,000 crore from India and overseas, taking its order book position to Rs 7,700 crore.

The order included work to be executed during the first quarter of next fiscal. The company in a release here said adding that the overseas orders were primarily from diversified markets including the American continents.

Commenting on the development company, Chairman and Managing Director B K Goenka said these orders have marked a strong beginning and reinstate Welspun's credibility as a Company which strives for Engineering Excellence.

Welspun had recently announced commissioning of its state-of-the-art Plate mill with a capacity of 1.5 million tonnes.

Plates produced (of up to 4.5 meters wide, X70 grade) from this facility will be primarily used to produce the LSAW pipes and other high-end applications.
