Vigilance trapped Woman SI in bribe case
Bhubaneswar, Jul 11 (UNI) A woman police sub-inspector was trapped by the vigilance sleuths while accepting bribe from an advocate to submit an upto date case diaries and examination report in a case.
Vigilance sources said a case was registered against Sarita Kumari Mohapatra, Sub-Inspector of Police of Mahila Police Station, Berhampur, for demanding an illegal gratification of Rs 5,000 from advocate Sapan Kumar Patra.
A trap was laid in the premises of Mahila Police Station, Berhampur, today and the lady Sub-Inspector was caught red-handed by the Vigilance officers of Berhampur Division.
The bribe money was recovered from her possession and seized in presence of witnesses. The hand wash gave positive chemical reaction confirming acceptance of bribe by the woman sub inspector, the Vigilance sources said.
