New Delhi, Jul 11 (UNI) Sultry weather conditions prevailing in Delhi during the last couple of days persisted today even as the weatherman forecast some heavy rains in the capital city towards the weekend.
For the third day today, high humidity levels and bright sunlight left Delhiites in acute perspiration. The minimum rose from 26.2 degrees Celsius yesterday, to 27.3 degree C.
The sultry conditions were exacerbated due to lack of rainfall for the third day in succession.
Some relief from sultry conditions could, however, be in offing towards the weekend with the weatherman forecasting some heavy rainfall in Delhi and other parts of northwest India during the next three days.
Due to a likely interaction of a low pressure area over central parts of north Madhya Pradesh and adjoining Uttar Pradesh with the mid-tropospheric westerly trough, scattered to fairly wide spread rainfall activity is likely over Northwest India during the next 3 days,''the weathermen said.
The Met office has forecast a partly cloudy sky in city during the next 24 hours with possibility of rain and thundershowers in some areas in the next 24 hours.
