One more succumbs to rain-related disease, toll rises to 41
Mumbai, July 11 (UNI) A 43-year-old man died of leptospirosis in the Metropolis, taking the toll in rain-related deaths to 41 since the onset of the monsoon this year.
According to civic officials, the man was admitted to Sion Hospital on July 5 with leptospirosis and died late last night.
In the last 24 hours, as many as 259 patients have been admitted to various civic hospitals in the city with rain-related diseases.
Of them 132 have been admitted with fever, 69 with gastroenteritis, six with leptospirosis, one with dengue and 51 with malaria, officials said.
