Muslim couple's tale of woe: Infant daughter dies on board
Chennai, Jul 11 (UNI) In a tragic incident, a Muslim couple who arrived here for medical treatment of their one-year-old daughter suffering from a congenital heart disease, had to return with her body the child dying minutes before the aircraft landed this morning.
Airport sources said Mohammed Yosuf and his wife Almurah Beevi, along with their child Fathima Tareq were coming from Muscat. As the aircraft was about to land at the International airport at 0555 hrs, the child developed complications.
As the child was battling for life, the Captain of the Gulf aircraft, alerted the Air traffic control to arrange for emergency medical aid.
As soon as the aircraft landed, the Medical team, which was waiting near the runway, rushed into the aircraft to save the child.
But it was too late! Heart rending scenes were witnessed inside the aircraft as the team of doctors declared the child dead. The parents said that they brought the child for treatment at the Frontier Life line hospital in the city for treatment.
As requested by the parents, no police case was registered and after the medical team issued the death certificate, the couple returned to Bahrain in the afternoon flight, this time with the body of the child in a coffin.
