Jeep washed away: 7 killed in Madhya Pradesh
Chhatarpur (MP), Jul 11: Seven people, including 3 children, were killed on the spot while four others swam to safety as a jeep boarded by them was washed away in flood water while crossing a low-level bridge on Barana nullah near Kisangarh in this district of Madhya Pradesh early this morning.
Search for the bodies was continuing and one body, identified as that of Laxmi Prasad Ahirwar, had been recovered downstream, police said, adding the area was receiving heavy rains for the last five days.
The victims, who hailed from Khairo village, were on their way to Amanganj in this district for a marriage function when they met with the accident about 70 km from here, police added.
The driver was among those killed, police said.
