Human skulls show up during digging work at railway station
Chennai, Jul 11 (UNI) Panic prevailed for some time among commuters at Egmore Railway station here today when a few human skulls and bones showed up while workmen were digging up the soil as part of expansion works.
Government Railway Police S P Sarangan told UNI that while digging, the officials found a couple of human skulls and some bone pieces.
''There is no cause for worry. They were age-old skulls, perhaps buried about 30 to 35 years back. Immediately, the police were informed. They took them away and handed them over to the forensic department'', he added.
The eighth and ninth platforms of the station were being expanded to construct a ramp for the benefit of the handicapped.
