Central govt approves 56 JNURM projects in Maharahstra
Mumbai, July 11 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh today said the Central government has approved 56 out of 143 projects submitted by the state government under Jawaharlal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission (JNURM) scheme.
Speaking at a meeting on this issue at Sahyadri Guest House, Mr Deshmukh said implementation of these projects will change the face of urban areas in the state.
The state government had submitted 143 projects under the scheme, out of which 56 have been approved by the Central government. The total budget for the project is Rs 7,739 crore and so far the Union government has given Rs 3,514 crore and the work at many places have already started, Mr Deshmukh said.
