1070 pilgrims leave for Amarnath Shrine
{image-amarnath pilgrims_11072008.jpg news.oneindia.in}Jammu, Jul 11: A fresh batch of 1,070 pilgrims today left for the Amarnath cave Shrine in the south Kashmir Himalayas under tight security arrangements.
The pilgrims, including 249 women, 23 children and 126 sadhus, proceeded for the Lord Shiva's Shrine in caravan of 24 buses, eight lmvs and a truck this morning, an official spokesman said. The pilgrims batch was escorted by the security personnel from the base camp at Bhagwati Nagar here, he said. The two-month-long Amarnath pilgrimage had commenced from June 17.
