UP facing sultry weather after heavy rainfall
Lucknow, Jul 10 (UNI) People of Uttar Pradesh re now-a-days facing 'sticky weather' as most regions of the state received little or no rainfall.
The dry weather has come as an aftermath of the incessant rainfall, which is at halt these days.
The Metereological Department said most places in the state received little rains in the last 24 hours.
Fatehgarh, Kannauj, Chhatnag (Allahabad division) recorded two cm each rainfall, while Mirzapur, Varanasi, Lucknow, Kanpur, Etawah, Janpur and Bani (Rae Bareli) witnessed one cm each.
Meanwhile, the Department forecast moderate to heavy rainfall for most places of UP in the next 24 hours. The weatherman also warned of heavy rainfall at a few places in the state.
According to the Central Water Commission (CWC) reports, the churning river Ghagra has decreased in volume and come down below the danger mark by 15 cm in Ayodhya, where it is most commonly known as the Saryu.
Ghagra is flowing 33 cm below the red mark in Turtipar (Ballia) and 65 cm below the level in Elginbridge (Barabanki).
The River Sharda has also calm down and is flowing 11 cm below the danger level in Paliyakala (Lakhimpur Kheri), the CWC informed.
Other prominent rivers -- Yamuna, Ganga, Cane, Rapti, Budhi Rapti, Gandhak, Kuwano and Ram Ganga are also said to be below the danger mark.
