Hyderabad, Jul 10 (UNI) United National Progressive Alliance (UNPA) National Convenor and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu today said the UNPA partners would elect the Chairman of the alliance in a meeting to be organised at the earliest.
UNPA Chairman Mulayam Singh Yadav resigned from the post when the Samajwadi Party (SP) had extended its support to the UPA, which was reduced to minority after the Left parties withdrew its support to the Centre on nuclear issue.
Talking to newspersons in West Godavari as part of his ''Mee Kosam Yatra,'' Mr Naidu said the UNPA would continue even after the SP left it. The UNPA would continue its agitational programmes against the UPA as it announced previously, he said.
''There will be no damage to the UNPA even after the SP's decision to leave it,'' he added.
