Chandigarh, Jul 10 (UNI) The Haryana Police is investigating into several anonymous letters threatening to blow up railway stations of Kurukshetra and some other religious places in the state.
Superintendent of Police (Railways) Bharati Arora today said some miscreants were trying to ''sabotage'' the railway stations of Kurukshetra, Karnal, Barara and other religious places in the state by mailing threatening letters with a view to creating panic among the public.
She said a case had been registered in this regard by the Haryana Government Railways Police and the investigations in the matter were on. She maintained that during the invesigations, it was found that all the threatening letters were written in one handwriting, indicating that it was the handiwork of the same person.
Ms Arora appealed to the people that in case they felt suspicious about any miscreant, they should inform the SP (Railways) Ambala Cantt about such anti-social elements over telephone numbers 0171-2643253 and 0171-2610004.
She said the name of informer would not be disclosed at any cost and he or she would also be given an award of Rs 50,000 by the Haryana Director General of Police.
