New Delhi, Jul 10 (UNI) Infuriated at the manner in which the UPA Government sent in the Draft Safeguards Agreement to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for ratification, Leader of the Opposition L K Advani today said "this government has made the country a laughing stock in the eyes of the world by keeping the people of the country in dark over the Indo-US nuclear deal.

Mr Advani who presided an NDA meeting at his residence this evening after the Draft Agreement was put on website, said the Manmohan Singh Government which had been reduced to a minority after withdrawal of support by the Left Parties, had lost all legitimacy to go ahead with the deal and demanded that the Prime Minister either resign or seek a vote of confidence in Parliament immediately.

He termed as "deceitful and duplicitous" the 'minority' Government action to approach the IAEA for ratification of the Indo-US nuclear deal. "We demand that the Prime Minister should either resign immediately or seek a vote of confidence in Parliament without any further delay so that the UPA Government, which had lost credibility, did not indulge in further horse-trading.

Asserting that the NDA would vote against the Government along with all those who were against the deal, the Leader of the Opposition said there was no need for any floor coordination with the 'Left' as majority of the MPs were against the deal and wanted that this government must go at the earliest for national interest.

"We felt outraged at the manner in which the Government put on website the draft agreement which was denied to us that it is a classified document. We are outraged by the deceitful attitude of the Prime Minister who violated with impunity all the assurances he had given in Parliament," Mr Advani said.

All their misgivings about the 123 agreement and the Hyde Act have come true as there are no changes in provisions of the document from that of the Draft which has now been put on the website, he said, quoting those who were closely studying the Indo-US nuclear Deal.
