Karnataka: Four students killed in road mishap

Gulbarga, Jul 10: Five people, including four students, were killed and one person was seriously injured, in two separate road mishaps that took place in the outskirts of the city today.

Police said that three persons, including two Engineering students, were killed when a car in which they were traveling collided with a lorry at Penegava village, about 10 km from here.

Lorry driver absconded after the incident.

The deceased were identified as Prudvi Shivananda (23), Pintu alias Sharanabasappa (24) both Engineering Students and Kumar Mallikarjun (32).

In another incident, two students were killed on the spot and one person was seriously injured when a two wheeler they were riding dashed against a tractor at Kapnor cross, in the outskirts last night.

The victims were returning after dinner at a Dhaba when the mishap occurred. The deceased were identified as Visal (18) and Mypaal Reddy (19). The injured student was shifted to Government hospital here.
