Collector's novel idea to end corruption
Kakinada, July 10 (UNI) In a novel way to end corruption in the administration, East Godavari Collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi today announced that aggrieved parties could call on a toll-free mobile number to register their complaints after which decoys equipped with button cameras, would be sent to the corrupt employee concerned.
Addressing mediapersons here today, he said the decoys would record the relevant audio visuals of the corrupt employee with the help of the button cameras. For this purpose, special digital cameras and recording equipment have been secured. They can be concealed in a pocket.
Making it clear that it is an effort to ensure corrupt-free and effective administration aimed at creating confidence among the people on the administrative machinery, Mr Dwivedi said it would act as a deterrent to those accustomed to corrupt practices.
He said the toll free number 18004252370 could be accessed through BSNL landline or mobile and he would be personally receiving the complaints between 1800 hrs-1900 hrs daily. He advised the people to report to him directly on this toll free number about any specific case of corruption among the government employees so that he could lay a trap for such employees.
However, he said the complainants should give their correct addresses and assured that the addresses would be kept secret. He said his endeavour was to catch hold of corrupt employees and send them to courts along with the evidence so that they could be put behind bars.
