Lahore, Jul 10 (UNI) The BCCI is inquiring into the details of the beach party attended by three Indian middle-order batsmen at Karachi's famous French beach on the night before the Asia Cup final.
Talented left-handed batsmen Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina and right-handed batsman Rohit Sharma went to the beach to attend a party thrown by some of their local friends immediately after attending the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) awards ceremony, local daily 'Jang' reported in a column.
The award ceremony was scheduled on the night before the Asia Cup final.
''Their friends had arranged a big party for them at the beach which is a hot-spot for those belonging to the upper crust of society.
And the three players returned to their hotel early morning from the beach,'' the report said.
''After a few hours the Indian team went into battle against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup final,'' it added.
All three in-form batsmen were dismissed cheaply in the final.
Yuvraj was clean bowled by unorthodox spinner Ajantha Mendis for a duck, where as Raina, who was one of the leading scorers of the tournament, could only manage 16 while Rohit Sharma went on to score only three runs.
India lost the summit clash by a huge margin of 100 runs.
The report also added that the three players were tired in the morning as they could not get proper rest before the all important tie.
''The signs of tiredness among these players was obvious when they entered the field,'' the daily said.
