Chandigarh, Jul 9 (UNI) A national level workshop on promoting Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) will be organised by the Haryana Renewable Energy Department in collaboration with Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) of the Union Power Ministry at Gurgaon on July 11.
While stating this today, Haryana Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Renewable Energy and Power, Mr Ashok Lavasa said that workshop aimed at highlighting the issues of energy efficient building design, create awareness about ECBC and technological options and project achievements made in energy efficiency in building operational strategies.

This code defines the minimum energy performance standards for large commercial buildings that have a connected load of 500 KW or greater or a contract demand of 600 KVA or more, having conditioned area of 1000 sq meter or more,'' Mr Lavasa said.
He said that Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda would be the chief guest at the inaugural function of the workshop. On the occasion Mr Hooda would also release a hand book on Energy Conservation Tips for buildings and homes prepared by the Renewable Energy Department.
The workshop would be attended by Administrative Secretaries, Heads of Departments, Architects and Engineers of Architecture Department, Housing Board, Haryana Urban Development Authority, Tourism, Police Housing Corporation, Urban Development and Town and Country Planning Department.
Builders and developers of the National Capital Region like DLF, Ansal and Unitect, representative of Union Ministry of Power, BEE, Confederation of Indian Industry, FICCI and those of the state designated agencies implementing energy conservation programmes in the country would also attend the workshop.
