Pudukkottai, Jul 9 (UNI) The Pudukkottai district unit of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has urged the Tamil Nadu Government to set up a cashew processing industry at Gandarvakottai in the district.
In a statement here today, party district president Shahabudin said the government should establish the cashew processing industry as large number of areas were brought under cashew plantation in Gandarvakottai.
He also urged the Centre to contain the prices of essential commodities.
Referring to frequent incidents of firing on Indian boats and arrest of fishermen by Sri Lankan naval forces, the BSP leader urged the Centre to impress up on the Lankan Government to revise the boundary of Kutch.
He also urged for the restoration of Parliamentary constituency status for Pudukottai, uninterrupted power supply in and around Gandarvakottai.
