One more succumbs to rain-related disease, toll rises to 40
Mumbai, July 9 (UNI) One more person died of leptospirosis today, taking the toll in rain-related diseases to 40, since the onset of the monsoon this year.
According to civic officials, a 50-year-old man, who was admitted to Nair Hospital on July 3, died due to leptospirosis this morning.
In the last 24 hrs, as many as 298 patients have been admitted to various civic-run hospitals with rain-related diseases. Of them, 171 were admitted with fever, 72 with gastroenteritis, six with leptospirosis, five with dengue and 44 with malaria.
