Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Jul 9 (UNI) The atmosphere for the Marathwada graduate constituency elections is getting hotter as top leaders of prominent parties have been canvassing in the region.
As many as 26 candidates are in the fray for the election to be held on July 15.
The leaders like Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray, senior Sena leader Manohar Joshi, senior BJP leaders Gopinath Munde and Nitin Gadkari held public rallies as part of canvassing for the candidates of their respective parties.
It will be a multi-corner fight among Chavan Satish Bhanudasrao of NCP, Jagannath Shyamrao Patil of Congress, Shrikant Joshi Anantrao of BJP, Vaidya Renukadas (Raju) Dattopant of Shiv Sena and Prakash Venkatesh Mahajan of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena.
There are four other candidates, who have same name like Shrikant Joshi, contesting the poll independently and they include Joshi Shrikant Anantrao, Joshi Shrikant Vasantrao, Joshi Shrikant Shivajirao and Joshi Shrikant Shrinivas.
The candidates of all the parties visited various parts of the region and preferred to meet voters directly as part of canvassing.
