CPI(M) stages protest rally over nuke deal in Uttarakhand
Dehra Dun, Jul 9 (UNI) CPI(M) workers staged a protest rally and burnt effigies of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and US President George W Bush over the Indo-US Nuclear deal issue in the city here today.
Party Spokesperson Surendra Singh said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had compromised India's sovereignty by succumbing to US pressure and approaching the IAEA for negotiating the safeguards agreement.
He said it was ironic that Dr Singh had joined hands with the US president who was unpopular in his own country.
