Bengal first low cost PPP housing project at Baruipur
Kolkata, Jul 9 (UNI) Bengal's first public-private-partnership's low cost housing for middle and low income groups at Baruipur in South 24-Parganas was unveiled today.
Altogether 448 apartments, 302 of them of 650 sq ft and 144 of 450 sq ft, will come up in 28 blocks in an area of six acres by 2010, Sureka Group managing director Pradeep Sureka told a news conference.
The project's cost is Rs 30 crores. 'Sunrise Junction' of the Bengal Park Chambers Housing Development Ltd, a joint sector company of the West Bengal Housing Board and Sureka Group, it is the first of its kind for the middle and poor income groups aimed at easing the housing problem at suburban areas.
While the price for a 650 sq ft 2-bedroom flat ''Manashi'' is Rs 5.50 lakh, a single bedroom 450 sq ft flat ''Archana'' will cost Rs.
2.60 lakh with down payment option, Mr Sureka said.
The flat will be alloted on a lottery basis.
The last date of application, available at different SBI branches in the city and suburbs at Rs 150 each, is July 24.
