Allu Arvind meets CEO, seeks extension of enrolment
Hyderabad, July 9 (UNI) Amid resignation across political parties in anticipation, the first firm indication that actor Chiranjeevi would launch his political party came today with his brother-in-law and Producer Allu Arvind meeting State Chief Electoral Officer IV Subba Rao at his office here.
Mr Arvind, who is acting as spokesman for the actor, told media after meeting Mr Rao that their survey had indicated that 20 per cent of voters, who had attained eligibility since January 2004, had not yet enrolled themselves and the July 14 deadline was too short a period for them to do so.
However, the State Electoral officer told Mr Arvind that window of opportunity for them was open from July 25 to August nine after which the draft electoral rolls would be displayed at MRO Offices across the state.
Meanwhile, sources said Mr Arvind also discussed all formalities required to launch a political party with the Electoral Officer.
