Hyderabad, Jul 8 (UNI) Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) President K Chandrasekhara Rao today said the TRS, an estranged ally of the United Progressive Alliance(UPA), would support the Manmohan Singh Government at the Centre, if it officially announced the formation of Telangana.
Talking to newspersons here, the former union minister said the two MPs of the TRS are ready to support the UPA, which was reduced to a minority after the Left parties announced withdrawal of support.
''The main condition of TRS is that Mr Singh should come forward in favour of Telangana,'' he added..
Alleging that the UPA has neglected the Telangana issue even after it was mentioned in the Common Minimum Programme(CMP), Mr Rao said NCP President and Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar telephoned him and asked for the TRS support.
''The TRS was ready to extend support to the UPA, if the Centre realises the dreams of Telangana people,'' he added.
Referring to the reports that Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu and himself had telephonically discussed to forge an alliance in the coming elections, the TRS President said, ''first, the TDP should clarify its stand on Telangana officially.
Then the TRS would take a decision on the poll pact with the party.'' UNI AP VA RL AS1818
