Pension to Defence of India Rule prisoners in Raj
Jaipur, Jul 8 (UNI) The Rajasthan Government has decided to provide pension to activists who had faced jail term of at least three months under Defence of India Rule(DIR).
The pension would be payable to such activists at par to the pension announced by the state government for political activists who faced three months or more imprisonment under Maintenance of Internal Security Act(MISA) during the emergency, Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje said.
The state government has been giving pension between Rs 3000 to Rs 6000 depending up on the length of jail term, to those political activists since April this year.
