Kerala CM condole death of CPI(M) leader
Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 8(UNI) Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan condoled the death of senior CPI(M) leader and former Polit Bureu Member P Ramachandran, who died at today Chennai.
In a condolence message, Mr Achuthanandan said ''the death of Comrade Ramachandran is a great loss to the Left Organisations, particularly to the CPI(M).'' The role of Comrade Ramachandran in building the CPI(M) and its other organisations will always be memorable, the Chief Minister said, adding that the former played a great role in building the Progressive Students Organisations in Malabar. Later, on the request by the party, he had shifted his activities to Tamil Nadu and played a great role in organising the undivided Communist Party there.
In another message, State Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said the loss of the departed leader was an irreparable loss to the working class.
As a Polit Bureu member, Comrade Ramachandran had made valuable contributions in accepting idelological approach and building the organisation, Mr Balakrishnan added.
