C.M promises Rs 15 crores for tri-centenery celebrations

Bidar July 8 (UNI) Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today announced a grant of Rs 15 crore for the developmental works during the tri-centenery celebrations of Guru Govind Singh birth anniversary of his visit to this fort city.

Speaking to newspesons after visiting the historic Gurudwara in the city which is gearing up to celebrate the 300th year birth anniversary of Gurugoving Singh visit Mr B S Yeddyurappa said that state would release the fund to beef up the developmental works being undertaken by the authorities to receive lakhs of sikh devotees expected to throng during the event.

The month-long tri-centenery anniversery celebrations will be held from October 2 to November 6, 2008.

He said that the government would develop the most revered Lalakjee Gurudwara Bidar, which is one of the most sacred shrine for the Sikh community.

After offering prayers in the Gurudwara, Yeddyurappa said that the government would release the funds soon to develop the Gurudwara, respecting the sentiments of Sikhs.

The Chief Minister who also attended marriage of the son of a former BJP legislator Prakash Khandre here also said that the government had sanctioned Rs three crores to construct a civil passenger terminal in the Bidar defence airport.
