Banks to have alarms connected to police stations
Chandigarh, Jul 8 (UNI) In order to ensure security of banks and petrol pumps, the Sirsa district Administration has directed the owners of these institutions to install alarm systems in their premises which will be connected with the nearest police stations.
An official spokesman today said the orders had been issued on the advice of Superintendent of Police under section 144 of Criminal Procedures Act 1973 to prevent the incidents of crimes and dacoity at such places.
Directions had also been given to depute private security guards at the banks and petrol pumps and install the close circuit television.
He said these measures had been taken to avert any untoward incident of theft and decoity and enable the petrol pumps and banks to raise an alarm with the help of the system to alert the police stations in case of such attempt.
Simultaneously, the close circuit televisions (CCTV) would be able to monitor and maintain photo record of all the people visiting these premises, he added.
