AIADMK to organise stir, legal steps on quota
Puducherry, Jul 8: AIADMK state secretary and MLA A Anbazhagan today said the party would organise agitations and take legal recourse to obtain 50 per cent seats as government quota in private medical colleges in the Union Territory.
Addressing a press conference here, he said the administration had on several occasions adopted resolutions seeking to provide 50 per cent seats as government quota in private medical colleges.
In such a situation why should the government convene a meeting of the medical college representatives to finalise the quota and that too chaired by the Chief Mminister, he asked.
He said a Government Order in this regard should be issued and action initiated against those, who failed to comply with the order.
Charging the DMK with adopting a 'double stand' in the issue, the AIADMK leader alleged that it was the DMK, which had commercialised medical education with the private medical colleges here during their regime.
