Jammu, Jul 7 (UNI) Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) today took strong note of Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra's role in the SASB land row and appealed to the UPA government at the Centre to remove him from his post in order to take the ongoing agitation in the winter capital to its logical end.
''J&K Governor N N Vohra has to be removed as he is equally responsible for the conspiracy against the people of the Jammu region, which has roused the sentiments of Hindus in the rest of the country,'' VHP national secretary Dr Surinder Jain said at a press conference here.
Alleging that the Governor had ''bowed before an anti-national and separatist demand'', Dr Jain said the Centre should look at the intensity of anger in people of Jammu against the move adopted by the Governor.
On the ongoing bandh, he said the VHP had assured Baba Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti of all support to take its agitation to its logical end.
Meanwhile, the VHP leader condemned the ''cruel attitude'' of administration towards the protesters. ''The way hospital administration dispatched the body of protester Manjit Singh, who succumbed in the GMCH Jammu is highly condemnable.'' The killing of another protester, who was allegedly pushed from a three-storey building by police in the city yesterday, was also very unfortunate, Dr Jain said.
Demanding a judicial probe into the incidents, the VHP leader said Rs 10 lakh ex-gratia relief and a job be provided to at least one person of the aggrieved families.
