US shocked at terrorist attack on Indian Mission in Kabul
New Delhi, Jul 7 (UNI) The United States expressed deep shock and sadness at the suicide attack outside the Indian Embassy in Kabul today which killed India's Defence Attache and Counsellor and three other embassy staff members, and said such incidents would only strengthen the resolve of both countries to defeat terrorism around the world.
US Ambassador to India, David Mulford, said in a statement that the US and India stood together side by side in an effort to build democracy in Afghanistan.
He said the United States was shocked at the ''tragic suicide attack'' outside the Indian Mission n Kabul.
The US is also ''deeply saddened'' by the tragic loss of life caused by the ''deliberate act of terrorism,'' Mr Mulford said while condoling the death of the people in the incident.
''United States and India stand side-by-side in the effort to build democracy in Afghanistan. Craven acts of terrorism like those committed today can only strengthen the resolve of both nations to defeat terrorism around the world,'' the Ambassador said.
