UHBVN to supply adequate power for paddy crop
Chandigarh, Jul 7 (UNI) Haryana has witnessed an unexpected growth in demand of electricity due to sowing operations and irrigation of paddy crops, humidity and scorching heat.
A spokesman for the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam said in order to supply maximum power to the consumers, on an average, Haryana Power Utilities were supplying more than 900 lakh units of electricity per day. As many as 942.57 lakh units of electricity had been supplied on July 6.
A spokesman for the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam said here today that the Nigam has directed its all the officers and officials to keep their mobile phones switch on at all times.
''No field officer or official will leave head quarter without permission of the Superintending Engineer or General Manager concerned. They will also seek prior permission to avail the leave.'' He further stated that the field officers would ensure that the electricity was supplied to the consumers as per the supply schedule. Interruptions regarding power supply would be attended in the minimum possible time to avoid inconvenience, he added.
