Two sisters arrested for stealing gold ornaments in Kashmir
Srinagar, Jul 7 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police claimed to have arrested two sisters for stealing gold ornaments worth Rs five lakh from a house in the south Kashmir district of Anantang.
A police spokesman said Dr Mohammad Hussain had lodged a complaint that gold ornaments worth Rs five lakh had been stolen from his government quarter at Janglat Mandi in Anantnag on July 5, when he and his wife were on duty.
He said during the course of investigation police arrested two sisters Gazala and Nazia. The girls confessed their involvement and the ornaments were recovered from one Parvez Ahmad Kadoo and Rafiq Pattan, who had purchased the stolen gold from them, he added.
The stolen gold was later recovered, the source said.
