Nashik, Jul 7 (UNI) A group of Sikh devotees staged a ''rail roko'' at Manmad railway station yesterday following the delay in attaching two bogies, which they had specially reserved, to the Jhelum Express.
According to sources, nearly 170 Sikh devotees from Amritsar, Chandigarh and other places had reserved two bogies for ''darshan'' of Nanded. After ''darshan'' at Nanded they returned to Manmad early last morning. Two bogies had to be attached to Jhelum Express, but it could not be possible due to late arrival of the devotees.
Following which, the devotees demanded the bogies, in which they were supposed to be travelling. But the Railway administration did not pay any heed to their demand even after 14 hours.
Later, on arrival of the 2715 Nanaded Amritsar Sachkhard Express yesterday afternoon, these devotees held an agitation by sitting in front of the train. Members of Sikh community, including women, who were passengers of Sachkhand Express, also joined and held demonstrations.
The railway administration expresed inability to join the two bogies to the Sachkhand Express as it already had 22 bogies.
Finally, the two bogies were attached to 2617 Down Erankulam-Nijamaddin Mangala Express and the agitation was called off after two and a half hours.
