Mumbai, July 7 (UNI) The latest tangle between the Ambani brothers took a new turn today, with the Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) spurning the Reliance Communications offer to hold a meeting next week, to clarify certain doubts on its deal with South African Telecom giant MTN.
Even as the RIL was keen that a reconciliation meeting should be on cards to enable RCom go ahead with its plans with amalgamation of South African telecom giant MTN, Rcom today said that it was prepared for a meeting with RIL officials to clarify doubts and was not prepared for any reconciliation.
According to RCom sources, RIL had within hours spurned off the offer of Rcom to meet in the week beginning July 14.
The sources said the ''meeting will not be part of ''conciliation'' or ''dispute resolution'' mechanism and RCOM reserves rights to take all actions as legally advised'' ''RIL's mala fides stand clearly established'' and it was not interested in understanding factual position or clarifying, RCom said.
It also said that the sole objective of RIL is to derail talks with MTN and ''frustrate a possible combination.'' UNI VK-PP RN SKB2018
