New Delhi, Jul 7 (UNI) Condeming the terrorist attack on Indian Embassy in Kabul, which left 40 people dead, including two senior Indian diplomats, BJP President Rajnath Singh said it was an act of cowardice and a crime against humanity.

In a statement Mr Singh said this barbaric and vicious attack on innocent civilians deserved universal condemnation and the initial investigation pointed towards the Taliban carrying out this attack in collusion with Pakistan's ISI.

Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai has warned the world community about the nefarious designs of the ISI and its involvement in terror crimes. Now it is becoming clear that the ISI is the destablising force in South Asia and it was time to punish the offenders severely.

He said he had been repeatedly insisting the Government of India to formulate a broader policy to counter terrorism. It was high time to spell out the policy to ensure safety of the lives and limbs of Indians working in tough conditions in neighbouring countries, Mr Singh said.

He also extended his condolences to the bereaved families and urged the Government to provide immediate relief and compensation to those affected, a party release said.
