Punjab Cong forms cell to fight political vendetta cases

Chandigarh, Jul 7 (UNI) The Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) has constituted a legal cell of the party to take up cases of alleged atrocities committed against Congress workers by the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD)-BJP government.

The cell formed by PPCC president Rajinder Kaur Bhattal will consist of three patrons--- Nasib Singh Gill, Harchand Singh Barsat and Kuljit Singh Sidhu.

PPCC general secretary Raj Pal Singh said here today Harpreet Singh Gharuan will be the Chairman of the cell. The Vice Chairmans of the cell will be-- Gurjit Singh Bal of Amritsar, Daljit Singh Saini of Ropar, Shiv Kumar Kalyan of Samrala and B M Singh of Patiala.

The General Secretaries of the cell will include Premjit Singh Dhaliwal of Moga, Aman Sibia of Sangrur, Iqbal Singh Gill of Barnala, Ramesh Grover of Moga, Dushyant Ohri of Hoshiarpur, Jasjit Singh of Mohali, Gaurav Bhaiya Ferozepur and Rana Harjasdeep Singh of Ludhiana.

Mr Devinder Kamboj, Hitesh Kaplish and Amandeep Saini have been appointed Treasurer, Press Secretary and Office Secretary of the cell respectively.

The secretaries of the cell include Ashwani Puri of Gurdaspur, Rahul Rupal of Moga, Navdeep Changli of Sangrur, Rajiv Sharda of Ludhiana, Ranjit Aulakh of Amritsar and Neeraj Luthra of Jalandhar.

Mr Raj Pal Singh said that the cell office bearers had been directed to immediately take up cases of atrocities in their respective areas at the appropriate level to ensure justice to the victims of political vendetta.
