Davangere, Jul 7 (UNI) The Karnataka Government has decided to extend the 'Nemmadi Kendras' to Grampanchayat level, Revenue Minister G Karunakara Reddy said today.
Talking to newsmen at Harapanahalli before participating in several development works, he said that at present 800 such Kendras are functioning at Hobli levels and 5600 more such Kendras would be established soon.
Several government facilities would be provided in these Kendras, he added.
Mr Reddy said that a regional level Revenue officials meeting has been convened from July 11 to discuss several problems faced by the common man and suitable decision will be taken to solve them. To begin with Bangalore regional level Revenue officials meeting will be held on Friday in Bangalore.
He said that a 30 days deadline has been set to taluk level officials to meet the demands of common man if they fail stringent action will be initiated without any caste and creed. Several loopholes in taluka officers were found during surprise visit to the offices at Harapanahalli, Kudligi and Gubbi.
Replying to a question about several Congress and JD(S) legislators joining ruling BJP, Mr Reddy said that it is a good development and not against norms of democracy.
When asked any more legislators joining BJP, he said "wait and see'.
Mr Reddy however declined to answer when asked whether BJP is targeting Congress or JD-S.
