Grenade attack near Kashmir Assembly

Srinagar, Jul 7: Militants on Monday, July 7, lobbed a grenade at a CRPF camp located about 1 km from the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, injuring a jawan. The grenade was lobbed at the office of DIG of the CRPF in Karim Nagar as the Assembly met for a day-long session during which Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad will seek a trust vote.

"The jawan received splinter injuries in the attack on the rear side of the headquarters of 23 battalion of the CRPF at around 9.45 am," CRPF spokesman P Tripathay told media. Security forces have cordoned off the area and have launched search operations.
