New Delhi, Jul 7 (UNI) Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today asked the people of the country to follow Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti's message to shun hatred and violence for the welfare of the human beings.
Holding that his message was relevant even today, Mr Vajpayee, in a message on annual urs of Ajmer Sharif Durgah of the Sufi Saint, said he wished for increasing brotherhood, peace and progress of the country.
Extending his wishes to the sufi's followers, he said the annual urs spreads the message of brotherhood among people of all sects as the people from all sections of the society, irrespective of their religious and ideological differences, social status and age, take part in it.
The former Prime Minister said giving equal respect to all religions, national unity, goodwill and brotherhood taught by the Khwaja Chisti were very important in today's context.
Mr Vajpayee sent a 'chadar' through a emissary to placed on the musoleum at Ajmer to pay his respects to the great saint.
