Arunachal to release six per cent additional DA

Itanagar, July 07 (UNI) The Arunachal Pradesh government has decided to release six per cent additional dearness allowance (DA) to its employees and pensioners, according to Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu here today.

With the additional DA, the total DA rate would enhance to 47 per cent and the state exchequer would have to bear an additional amount of Rs 32.82 crore annually, the Chief Minister said while addressing the first state level meeting of Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Sangathan (RGPRS).

The announcement made by the state government recently was in view of rising prices of essentials, he informed and added that the state government was aware of the hardship of the people, particularly the employees and pensioners.

The Chief Minister also informed that the state government had also decided to release an amount of Rs 13 lakh each to all the 16 districts of the state for district planning from this fiscal, which would be at the disposal of respective zilla parishads.

Highlighting the various achievements of his government, Mr.

Khandu claimed that the outcome of the recent panchayat polls in the state proved the faith and confidence of the people reposed on the Congress government.

On the devolution of power to the panchayat bodies, the Chief Minister disclosed that the state government had already decided to hand over 29 departments as per activity mapping demarcating the roles of the legislators and panchayat leaders and accordingly allocated an amount of Rs 25 crore to the panchayats.
