Tirumala will be developed as world's holiest pilgrim centre: CM
Hyderabad, Jul 6 (UNI) The temple town of Tirumala will be developed as the world's holiest pilgrim centre by providing top class facilities to pilgrims, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy said today.
Reviewing the arrangements for 'Amrutotsavam,' which would be celebrated at Tirumala hills from July seven to 10 to mark the 75 years of the existence of Tirumala Tirupathi Devastanams (TTD) Trust Board, Dr Reddy, who was camping at Maldives, said since Tirumala had the highest pilgrim congregation in the world, the TTD should make all efforts to ensure a hassle-free accommodation and darshan for pilgrims.
He said the abode of Balaji should be acknowledged as the cleanest shrine in the world, an official release said here.
The temple administration should be more transparent and pilgrim-friendly, he said.
The state government had recently decided to stop the services of private security and deploy adequate Special Protection Force to look after the entire security of the temple town, he said.
