Indore, July 6 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Public Works Department Minister Kailash Vijaywargiya today described visit of Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh and other leaders as part of internal politics.
''Mr Singh wants to show that he is number one leader in the Congress despite Mr Suresh Pachouri being appointed state Congress President,'' Mr Vijaywargiya said, alleging that the Congress was playing politics even in such delicate situation.
Meanwhile, Mr Singh, who was arrested along with Union Ministers V Narayan Sami and Kantilal Bhuria on their arrival at the airport here to visit communal violence-affected areas, spent time in jokes and fun. Mr Singh sang 'Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram' and others followed him. Earlier, they were accorded warm welcome by party workers.
Curfew was not relaxed in normal areas in the past 24 hours.
Curfew was lifted for three hours from 1600 hrs to 1700 hrs last evening. However, curfew was relaxed for two hours in 13 police station limits from 0700 hours to 0900 hours this morning. No untoward incident was reported.
Commonman was hit the hardest by the curfew during which high-cost taxi service was available instead of normal auto service.
Similarly, Reliance Fresh and other big retail stores provided daily use items to influential people but needs of commonman were not met.
A UNI report from the state capital said state BJP President Narendra Singh Tomar charged the Congress of trying to disrupt the process of restoring peace in communal violence-torn Indore and called their attempt to visit the affected areas as irresponsible behaviour.
He claimed that peace in Indore was disrupted at the instance of the Congress, which believed in minority appeasement.
