Temperatures rises in HP

Shimla, Jul 5 (UNI) Minimum and maximum temperatures in several places in Himachal Pradesh rose by a few degrees following overcast conditions during the last 24 hours.

The minimum temperature at Shimla town rose by a few notches to stand at 17 degrees as aainst 16.8 degrees Celsius recorded yesterday, while the day temperature stood at 22.8.

The maximum temperature at Sundernagar rose by over a degree to 29.6 degrees as against 28.4 degrees recorded yesterday.

The met office said the day temperature at Bhuntar stood at 33, 24.4 at Kalpa in Kinnuar, 27.8 at the famous tourist resort of Dharamshala, 32.4 at Mandi and 29.2 degrees at Solan town.

However, the minimum temperature at Sundernagar fell to 21.8 degrees, 18.4 at Bhuntar, 9.5 at Kalpa. 19.7 Dharamshala, 20.3 at Mandi and 20.6 degrees at Solan, it said.

Overcast conditions prevailed over Shimla town and other adjoining areas and was followed by intermittent rains throughout the day.

Reports of sharp showers were also received from few places in Una, Hamirpur and Kangra districts, while light showers lashed few palces at Bilaspur and Solan districts.

The met office has forecast rain and thundershowers at many places in the state during the next 24 hours.
