Six bookies held for betting
Lucknow/Agra, Jul 5 (UNI) Special Task Force (STF) of police today booked six bookies for betting over the Asia Cup matches being played in Pakistan from Agra.
Six people namely Brijesh, Anil Jain, Shalu Agarwal, Sandip, Shahabuddin and Devendra were arrested from Hariparvat area in Agra and recovered two laptops, one computer and Rs 3.5 lakh in cash, police said.
According to the STF sources, one of the accused Akash was channalising the entire racket from his Trading company in Mahanagar.
However, the sources also revealed that the same was done at a diary in Udayganj area of Kaisarbag.
Besides, the STF also nabbed Akash Agarwal, Sandeep Srivastava and Hanif Bhalla late last night and recovered 13 mobile, two wireless phone and several other materials from their possession.
During interrogation, the accused revealed that they used to get the betting rate through one Manoj Gupta of Delhi on their mobile.
The accused had the record of 20-20 IPL cricket series, which was played in India, in their labtops, besides the current Asia cup records.
