Kathmandu, July 5 : The Madhesi parties have concluded that the decision of the Nepal Government to introduce a supplementary bill to amend the Constitution is not in keeping with their demands.
Terming the move by the Seven Parties Alliance (SPA) as betrayal of the Madhesi people, the Madhes parties have said that they will be compelled to re-launch their struggle.
The joint statement of the parties signed by Sarita Giri of a faction of Nepal Sadbhavana Party (Anandi Devi) (NSP-A) stated that the government decision has compelled them to 'carry forward the agitation in more effective and stronger manner in the coming days.'
Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF) coordinator Upendra Yadav described it as a blatant violation of the state's agreement with us and a serious betrayal of Madhes.
"It has not even respected the spirit of our discussions in the past few days," said another Madhesi People's Rights Forum (MPRF) leader Bijay Gachchhadar.
"The decision has pushed the Madhes to further suspicion and uncertainty, he added", Nepalnews reported.
